This light-hearted story is focused on Yu Meiren, a passionate influencer and fashion expert with a hidden academic side (She has a PhD in ornithology; the study of birds); she became an influencer in beauty and fashion after experiencing personal discomfort about her perceived intelligence and looks. Twelve years prior she had been humiliated when Zhuang Yu, a brilliant but socially awkward lecturer in botany, unintentionally rejected Yu Meiren during university. After years apart, their paths cross again. Zhuang Yu is still focused on his plant research as he comes to Qingshui Village for a project and is at a bed and breakfast where Meiren's family owns. Meiren's initial plan is to make him fall in love with her only then to reject him as part of her revenge; however, unexpectedly, her plan falls apart as memories of their time together and her previous feelings come rushing back. Although they are opposites, she is bubbly and confident, and he serious and shy, they do bond over shared interests around environmental conservation and ideals around science. They work through the misunderstandings, clashes and growing attraction, with themes connecting through self-acceptance, intellectual equality, and the power of love. The other characters, supporting, include Yu Meiren's best friend, Li Tiantian, and Jin Xi, a CEO who becomes involved.
