Bon Appétit, Your Majesty( also known as The dictator's Cook) is a 2025 South Korean fantasy literal love drama. The narrative chronicles the adventure of Yeon Ji- yeong( Im Yoon- ah), a contemporary French cook who, after winning a top award in a cuisine contest and mysteriously time- traveling to the of Joseon in the 19th century, meets the dictator king Lee Heon( Lee Chae- min) who has a sophisticated palate but an explosive temper.
Ji- yeong is thrown in the position of cooking for the king, and using her ultramodern cuisine chops, she produces beautiful and aesthetically pleasing emulsion- style dishes to impress King Lee, pushing the boundaries of political and romantic challenges while forgetting traditional palace history concerning cuisine.
Throughout her trip, Ji- yeong has important adversaries Kang Mok- ju( Kang Han na), King Lee's lecherous doxy and Ji- yeong's adversary who wants Ji- yeong dead and so do King Lee's political antagonists, similar as King Lee's half- family Prince Je Seon( Choi Gwi- hwa), who sees possible reformation in Ji- yeong. Ji- yeong is caught up with palace schemes, life and death situations, and the possibility of changing the course of history. Blending comedy, love, and literal fantasy rudiments, the series explores rudiments of power, identity, and emotional connection.
