A historical romance about a noblewoman and a mysterious man who appears in her hometown during the 1600s in the midst of being invaded by the Qing.
Yu Gil Chae is a pretty, light-hearted, and somewhat spoiled young lady nicknamed the 99 tailed fox of Neunggun-ri. They are somewhat outcast because of the other young ladies' envy of them. The other girls think Gil Chae is too direct and may be inappropriate for a young lady while the young noblemen think highly of her. Gil Chae knows how to make men fall in love with her; unfortunately, the one person she has feelings for, she cannot seem to get a heart from.
Lee Jang Hyun is a mysterious man who shows up in Neunggun-ri unexpectedly. Rumors swirl about him, and he is somewhat resented to the point that young men don't like him, while the elders have no choice but to like him. He has just began dating a lot of people until he's curious about a certain 99 tailed fox, and one day, he unexpectedly savors his moment with the 99 tailed fox when she literally crashes into him.
As war is unfolding, before they can even make sense of their feelings, the pair find themselves completely separated from each other.
