Angel's Last Mission: Love (2019) is a South Korean drama that follows Lee Yeon-seo (Shin Hye-sun), a talented ballerina who has a cold heart and becomes blind due to an accident. Bitter, lonely, and with no interest in returning to ballet, she meets Kim Dan (Kim Myung-soo) the angel, silly, lovable and downright mischievous. Kim Dan has been given one last mission, find true love for Yeon-seo, as he is meant to->-> return to heaven after accomplishing his mission. Then as Kim Dan helps Lee Yeon-seo while she still struggles with her accidents, he begins to fall in love with her, and falling in love with a human is both against celestial authority and could as well bring a total annihilation of his being and purpose.
With, familial betrayal, jealousy and anger from fellow ballerinas in addition to interference from above, Angel's Last Mission is a fantasy drama that calls for sacrifice, redemption, and with love. The drama very cleverly considers emotional themes with fantasy elements and resolves with a very emotional and life affirming ending, while considering fate and moments of chance.
